Margaret Luella Campbell  (nee Harris)

1929 - 2026

Margaret passed away peacefully at WRHN @ Chicopee, Kitchener on Wednesday May 20th, 2026 in her 96th year.

Margaret was born in Madoc Twp, Hasting County. She was raised on a farm in Cooper, ON and worked it with her parents. She left the farm as a teenager to attend high school in Madoc, ON. After graduating she worked in the area at Deloro Stellite Mines & the Toronto Dominion Bank.

She married Don Campbell in 1952.  They traveled throughout Ontario as he worked on construction projects building bridges & roads. Eventually settling in Cobourg, ON where she lived for 60 yrs. She became an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Her network of friends reached far and wide, from young to old and she loved to visit with everyone. One of her many hobbies included mapping out and attending the Saturday garage sales and then once a year having a garage sale at her house for family & friends. She loved to go camping, fishing, her gardens and generally being outside.

The biggest joy in her life was spending time with her grandchildren when they were little and as they got older spending time with them and their partners.  Once the great grandchildren arrived her description of all of them was “precious” with a big smile on her face.

Beloved wife of the late Donald Brown Campbell who predeceased her in 2006.  They were married for over 54 years.

She is survived by her loving son Glen & his wife Susan (Page). Cherished grandmother of Brian (Alyssa), Brent (Zena) and Julie (Ben).  Proud great-grandmother of Edith, Iris, Victoria & Ella

Predeceased by her parents; George and Martha Harris (nee Downie) & her brother Frances Harris.

She will be sadly missed by her many extended family members including Mary Campbell, Barbara Bakke (Terry), John Campbell, Karen & Bryan Bray along with the Tinney, Cunningham, Commerford & Graham families and her many friends and neighbours.

Margaret’s 90th Birthday Party was attended by over 140 people which was her celebration of life choice.  A private gathering will be held by the family for burial.
