Loving husband and best friend of Carmen Miron. Father of Sebastian (Carrie) and grandfather to Alexandra. Father of Julian (Michelle) and proud and loving grandfather of Harrison, Clara and Bennett. He is also survived by his former wife Anya Korbova. Stepfather of Alexandra Eisenbichler (Allan Tanaka) and proud and loving grandfather of Athena and Karlina. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Margaret (nee Gill).
Peter was born and raised in London, England. He completed his PhD degree (Biochemistry & Physiology) at Southampton University, England. After moving to Canada, he had a successful academic research career in the Department of Pathology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He then moved to Montreal in the pharmaceutical research industry. His favorite line was “I know a lot about a little and a little of a lot”.
Peter had many hobbies and talents, including woodworking, jewelry craftwork and above all his patience and love of creating stained glass masterpieces! Peter was also an avid squash player and was given an honorary mention at the squash club as being the “oldest guy” still playing singles at the Kitchener-Waterloo Racquet Club. He also enjoyed playing tennis and was a member of the Waterloo Tennis Club and the YMCA tennis Club in Naples, Florida. He loved all genres of music and was a passionate supporter of his wife’s involvement with various orchestras locally and abroad.
He was also an adventurous traveler, which started when he was only 18 years old, hitchhiking across Europe and venturing into Middle Eastern Countries. He also spent 99 days traveling across all parts of the United States and then continued his beloved adventures over the years travelling places such as Tibet, Mt. Everest basecamp, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Laos, African Safari, India, Inca, New Zealand and more!
Many family, friends and colleagues will fondly remember Peter. He was vibrant, interesting, inquisitive, fun loving, kind and had a wonderful sense of humor. His sudden death left an immense void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
A Cremation has already taken place, and details of a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Peter’s memory may consider-donations to Parkinson’s Canada.
