Ronald John March

‍Passed away at his Cambridge, Ontario home on Saturday, February 28, 2026

Ron was married to his wife, Pete, for 63 years, and he will be much missed by both her and by his daughter, Kallin, and her husband, Douglas, as well as by extended family members and the many friends he acquired over his long lifetime.

Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Hannah March who both lived in Ron’s native London, UK.

Ron emigrated to Canada in the early 1960s and was an active member of the Kitchener Waterloo community. He was a member of City Council and ran for Alderman in the mid-1980s. An accomplished architect, Ron was a founding member of the Snider, Reichard and March architectural firm. Among his notable contributions to the K-W area are the old Waterloo Region Courthouse,  the First United Church (at King and Caroline), and an early iteration of the KW Bilingual School before the school’s current configuration.

Ron’s many talents aside, people will most likely remember him for his infectious laugh and for his love of golf, about which he wrote a novel and developed a board game. At various times throughout his life, Ron was an athlete, an artist, a business owner; but most importantly, he was a wonderful husband and father and a great friend to many.

Cremation has taken place, and while Ron’s preference was not to have a service messages and condolences may be left for the family in the comments box below.
