Sarah Anne Nielsen-Jones
1952-2026
Passed away peacefully and painlessly at the Grand River Hospital (Kitchener) on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the age of 74. Sarah was delighted and comforted by the many visits from close family and friends during her stay in hospital. The family extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Paul Bullock and the dedicated staff at GRH.
Loving sister of Ian (Linda), Jennifer (Ron), and Michael; dear Auntie of Christopher, Alison, Eric, Jessica, and Alixandra; and loved great aunt to many. Predeceased by her parents, Richard and Jean.
Born in Oakville and raised in multiple places across Canada, Sarah was a lifelong learner who earned an Honours BA and Masters in Theology. Sarah worked in the insurance industry (IOF) for many years and then worked for decades at Full Circle Foods, a health food store, working with and becoming close friends with successive owners, fellow staff, and customers.
Sarah deeply cherished her relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. She enjoyed good conversations (and had a wicked sense of humour!), reading, baking and cooking, antiques, natural living, and walking. Perhaps most of all, she enjoyed cuddling and caring for the many pets belonging to friends and family.
Sarah lived for her family and friends... and their pets!
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 (1:00-4:00 p.m.) in the Gathering Room of 20 Ellen St. E., Kitchener.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the David Suzuki Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
