It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Horvath, 79 of Cambridge after a brief illness.

Loving husband of Charlotte (Rudisch), beloved father of Susan (Wallace) and Christine (Paul) and proud grandfather of Sarah, Charlotte and Luke.

John was born in Hungary in 1939 and came to Toronto in 1956. He had a love of classic cars and was a member of the Centurions Car Club for many years. It was through the lifelong friends he made in the car club that he met his wife Charlotte whom he married in 1966. They had two daughters and in 1975 moved to Hespeler when John accepted a job with General Electric (later ABB) in Guelph. He retired in 2001 and enjoyed spending his retirement with his family, friends and the Company of Neighbours. John had a special bond with his friends Ross (Marylou), Wendel (Anne) and Jimmy (Susan) for over 50 years and some of his happiest times were spent with that group.

John is survived by his sister Regina (Alec) and brothers-in-law Rick (Susan), Bill, Tom (Lynn) and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 18 from 1 - 4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 272, 26 Schofield Street, Cambridge.

Please visit John's obituary notice on Facebook.

Dad, I see glimmers of you everywhere around us. I carry with me so much of you in how you raised me and am proud to have passed those traits to your Grandaughter Charlotte. I already miss you so much but am taking solace that you are no longer in pain and at peace. Always Remembered. xo
