Carey Lynne Hargrove

August 24,1979 - August 14, 2026

With profound sadness, the family of Carey announces her passing after her five-year courageous battle against cancer.

Born in Montreal, having lived in Calgary, Toronto, Oakville and lastly Cambridge Ontario.  Carey lived with a profound zest for life, and a strong dedication to her relationships with family and friends. Carey is survived by her children Caiden and Emma, who were the loves of her life and brought her great joy.   Pre-deceased by her mother Debbie, loved and survived by her father Peter, step-mother Delphine, and sister Leigh, also Matt, Janice, Frost, George, Lise, Ray, Ramona, various other family, and numerous friends.

Carey will be greatly missed. After becoming passionate about physiology, Carey became a Registered Massage Therapist, helping those with various ailments with her treatments.

Life turned suddenly for her with her diagnosis.  She was always stoically brave and positive during her long fight against cancer yet still finding compassion for others.  She wrote and played lyrical songs on her guitar, wrote poetry, documented in detail her cancer treatments and journey.  Carey wanted to complete her detailed notes in a book to try to help others navigate their battles with cancer.  Carey’s warmth, smile, sense of humour, and other qualities will be greatly missed by all.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Levine and his team at Juravinski Cancer Hospital, and the helpful staff at Innisfree House Hospice in Kitchener.

A celebration of life will be held Oct 4th,2026. 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at The Butterfly Conservatory Cambridge Ontario, on Kossuth Road.
