Chandrakumara Nemal Rodrigo

1958 –2026

Passed away peacefully at Innisfree House, Kitchener on Saturday April 25th, 2026 at the age of 67.

Nemal was born in 1958 in Sri Lanka. He worked in many fields such as construction, food services/ hospitality and auto detailing in Sri Lanka, Iraq, Japan and Canada. He truly cherished working at Maple Mazda in Vaughan, Ontario before retiring. Nemal loved riding his motorcycle and many other vehicles. He enjoyed road trips, picnics and social gatherings. Nemal loved his pets so much including Sheba.

Nemal was predeceased by his parents K. Edwin Rodrigo and Senawathie Jeewandarage. He is survived by wife, Padmini Liyanagunawardana, children, Savani Rankothge, Sajith and Chathura Rodrigo, grandchildren, Thinara and Thinira Rodrigo and siblings Shanthimala, Sarath and Nihal Rodrigo.

There will be no funeral or memorial service and cremation will take place. His celebration of life will be held on May 2nd, 2026 at the Lake Monastery, Cambridge, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Waterloo Wellington Buddhist Monastery and Meditation Centre or Innisfree House as expressions of sympathy.
