Elizabeth Ann Pulley
1938- 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth on Sunday March 1, 2026 at WRHN@Queen’s Blvd at the age of 88 years.
Liz was born in Kitchener and raised on her parents farms. Mom studied secretarial course at KCI. She started working at Sunshine Office Products, then moved to KW Hospital, Medical Records where she typed pre-op histories. From there, she started full time work at St Luke’s Lutheran Church as administrative assistant. She was always ready to sit and listen when people walked in and needed a friendly ear.
Liz met John through LutherLeague. They married in 1960 and had two children, Lisa (1962) and Michael (1966).
Mom had lots of hobbies over the years. She learned to ski despite her fear of heights. She was a bowler ( with trophies! ). She loved gardening, quilting with the church ladies, knitting, reading and camping. And she loved her pets. We had many dogs growing up.
John and Liz were founding members of Luther Ranch and volunteered for many jobs there, as well as for the Klondike Snowmobilers club. Both were active in their two churches up north. Liz played the organ and John was a lay assistant. From there they started going to area nursing homes and provided services with lots of music and singing.
In time, they decided to move back home to Kitchener. Liz surprised us all by doing aquafit with some of the ladies in her building. ( she was scared of water!) Going over to their place, you could usually find Liz watching either Hudson and Rex ( Rex being the whole reason she watched the show) or Law and Order or sleeping on the couch! We’re going to miss you Mom. We love you.
Beloved wife of John Pulley. They were married for over 65 years. Loving mother of Lisa Boyd ( Kerry) and Michael Pulley ( Daria). Cherished grandmother of Derek (Elie), Riley (Melissa) and Kyla Boyd and Madison and Kaitelyn Pulley.
Predeceased by her parents; Clarence and Almeda ( nee Ober) by one brother Ken Eby ( Buelah).
Cremation has taken place. A short service will be held on Saturday March 28th at 2 pm in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 317 Franklin St. N. Kitchener followed by a Celebration of life in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or Humane Society as expressions of sympathy.
