Ewart George Wheeler

In loving memory of a cherished husband, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. Ewart will be forever remembered and missed. Born on January 9, 1939, he passed away at age 87 on May 25, 2026, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Before retiring, Ewart was a Buyer at Babcock and Wilcox (BWXT) for many years. In his youth, he was a proud member of the Salvation Army band, a member of car club, The Road Rajahs, was an avid golfer and loved his Sunday morning hockey.

Ewart is predeceased by his parents Allan and Lillian Wheeler, siblings Edna, Renée and brother Don; nephews Bill Drinkwater and John Bilicky; niece Cindy Drinkwater; mother and father-in-law Catherine and Steven Bennett, brother-in-law John Maidment and sister-in-law Sara (Peggy) Wheeler.

Ewart is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Doreen (Bennett), his sons Greg (Sandy); Geoff (Laura); grandchildren Samantha (Cole); Scott (Zara), Kaily (Brandon), Crystal and great grandson Benjamin; sisters Daphne (Ned), Lillian (Jack), Dorothy, brothers-in- law Pat (Sue) and Steve (Gabrielle) and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13th at 2pm at The Salvation Army, Cambridge (Galt) 16 Shade Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army (Galt) would be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to the 3rd floor doctors, nurses and volunteers at CMH.
