George Arnold Emery
1932 – 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George at WRHN @ Chicopee (Freeport Hospital) on April 3rd, 2026, at the age of 93 years.
George was born in November 1932. He was raised in Hamilton, Ontario. He worked in the sales industry in southern Ontario and was a devoted volunteer firefighter for many years in Dundas, Ontario. He never missed the chance for a funny joke with his carefree personality. George loved to build remote airplanes and boats and enjoyed playing with them even more.
Beloved husband and best friend of Suzanne Emery who were married for over 26 years.
Loving father of William Emery (Bill), Katherine Young, Linda Begenat, Sharon Stark, George Emery Jr and Robin Cooper. Loving Father-in-law of Kirby, Angie and Robert.
Proud grandfather of Scott, Johnathen, Keith, Lori, Mistee, Nigel, Shane, Kristen, Lindsey, Heather and Danny. Proud great-grandfather of Clayton, Jonny and Jessica, Katie and Ethan, Holly, Ali, Anneke Talyn, Ryder, Xavier and Rayne. Proud great-great-grandfather of Danny.
Cherished brother of Dennis (predeceased), Clifford (predeceased) and Ruth Buckley.
Loving stepfather of Todd and step grandfather of Easton.
He will be remembered by many friends and neighbors.
Cremation will take place. A Celebration of life was held on April 5th with family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy.
