Kenneth “Ken” Bruce Smith

Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at the age of 79.

Beloved husband and best friend of Gladys Annie Smith (nee Fisher) for 58 years..

Cherished father of Kenneth (Kenny) Smith, Cambridge, ON..

Proud grandfather of  Brittany Brown (Mitch) Paris, ON and Mason Smith Cambridge, ON.

Dear brother of Paulette (Earl) Clyburne, Truro, N.S and Raymond (Bev) Smith, Dartmouth, N.S..

Ken was predeceased his parents Bruce and Lulu Smith (Mailman), beloved daughter Stephanie Smith and sisters Beulah (Elwood) Butler, Ralda (Billy) Higgins., Shirley (Bill) Archibald, Geraldine (Leo) Power. Irene (Harvey) Mcgrath..

Ken was born on May 19th, 1946 in Caribou Gold Mines, Guys. Co., N.S.  He worked briefly in Halifax before he moved his young family to Ontario.  He worked at JB Allen in Cambridge, ON and retired from Emco, in Kitchener, ON.  Ken liked to fish and hunt and tinker and he and Gladys like to travel the roads exploring and going to yard sales..  Ken was a friend to all and a gentle giant of sorts with many epic tales to tell.  There was no-one who met that him that didn't  like him.  He loved Gladys and his children and grandchildren to a fault and he will be greatly missed by them all.  

Cremation has taken place and the immediate family has already held a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
