Gerry & Elissa Moreby
Elissa (Pauk) Moreby
1954–2026
Elissa Moreby passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at the age of 71. She was a woman with a warm heart, a deep love for animals, and a quiet strength that carried her family through every chapter of life.
Elissa’s life was filled with adventure. In her youth, she traveled across the globe, soaking up new experiences before settling down in Cambridge, where she built a beautiful home and a life rich with family, dogs, horses, and gardens. She had a successful dog grooming business, Canine Clipper, which became well known in the community for her incredible attention to detail and the tender care she gave to every dog that came through her doors.
Horses held a special place in Elissa’s heart throughout her life. From competing in the Hunter circle as a young adult, to teaching youth riders as an adult, to watching her granddaughter Abby grow into her own equestrian journey, horses were always present.
She prided herself on her beautiful garden, tended with patience and love. And she loved to sing and dance, often sharing stories from her time at the Canada’s National Ballet School or singing along to her favourite songs with joy.
Elissa and her husband Gerry Moreby shared a deep love for Mexico. Over the years, they took many trips there together, soaking up the sun, relaxing, and enjoying the warmth of a place they both adored. Those trips became cherished memories that they carried with them.
Elissa was predeceased by her father, Bill Pauk; her mother, Vera Pauk; and her sister, Camile Layzell. She is survived by her daughter, Natasha MacKay (Chad MacKay); her stepdaughter, Lindsay Reid (Travis Reid); her stepson, Chris Moreby (Sophia Tucker); her sister Lileya Butler; and her beloved grandchildren, Hunter, Zane, and Abby MacKay, and Paisley and Harper Reid.
Sadly, Gerry Moreby passed away on June 6, 2026, just a few months after Elissa. Their love story, shared adventures, and years of companionship have now closed in a way that feels deeply fitting for a couple who lived so fully together.
Elissa will be remembered for her warm heart, her ability to persevere, and the way she brought light into a room. She will be lovingly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held for Elissa Moreby and Gerry Moreby on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 1 - 4 pm, at Cambridge Golf Club, 1346 Clyde Rd, Cambridge, ON N1R 5S7.
In place of flowers or donations, we warmly invite you to share a cherished memory of time spent with Elissa, Gerry, or both. Through your stories, we can keep their spirit alive and remember all the joy and wild adventures they brought into our lives.
