Jack Ross Wright
1932-2025
Jack Ross Wright, passed away on November 15, 2025, at the age of 93. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Helen Wright (nee Sweiger) on October 13, 2025. Mom and Dad were soul mates in life and soul mates in death, as dad passed away one month and two days later. Jack was the beloved father of Lynn Wright of Richmond Hill and Gail Petrie (Richard/Dick) of Kitchener and two grandchildren Sara of Kitchener and Kevin (Ashlee) Petrie of Annandale, P.E.I.
Jack was born in Nassagaweya Township near Guelph, Ontario in the year 1932 to parents, George Wright and Jessie Wright (nee McAlpine). Jack married Helen in 1957 in Chesley, Ontario where they worked together at their family business, Wright’s Farm Equipment and raised their family. Jack loved his work and valued his relationships with the farming community in the Chesley area. Jack and Helen lived next to the business and were fortunate to have his parents, George and Jessie, live behind their home. Speaking as his daughters, it was a wonderful place to grow up and have close family connections daily. In 1995 Jack and Helen closed the business and moved to Foxboro Green, in Baden, Ontario. After many happy years the move was made in 2017 to Luther Village on the Park in Waterloo where they resided for 9 years.
Shortly after the move to Luther Village, Jack was diagnosed with dementia and along with the covid pandemic, life offered quite a few challenges which they had to navigate. In 2025, Jack was moved to the Memory Floor at Winston Park in Kitchener where he resided until the end. We can’t thank the people at Winston Park enough for all their excellent and compassionate care. The challenges these brave men and women face as part of their careers is truly admirable, and it was such a comfort to know that dad was being well looked after and cared for like he was family. Jack was predeceased by his brother, Ken from Galt, Ontario.
Cremation has already taken place and according to dad’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial. Lynn and Gail have so appreciated all the friends and family who have reached out as we struggle to come to terms with having lost both our mother and father within a month’s timeframe.
