Lisa Marianne Young
1977– 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lisa Young on Thursday, October 15th, 2026, at the age of 48.
Lisa was raised in Kitchener, Ontario, and devoted much of her life to caring for the people around her. She had a generous heart and a natural instinct to help, especially those who were struggling. She earned her diploma as an Addictions and Community Services Worker because she wanted to be someone others could turn to when life felt overwhelming. She believed in second chances, and she tried to see the best in people even when they couldn’t see it in themselves.
Lisa’s kindness showed up in steady ways — the gentle check‑ins, the thoughtful gestures, the way she listened with her whole attention. Even when she faced challenges of her own, she still tried to make life a little softer for the people around her. Her compassion was sincere, and her determination to keep trying was something we all saw and admired.
Lisa will be remembered with love by her daughters, Alexis and Victoria; her parents, Judith (William) and Gregory; her sisters, Shelly (Troy) and Jacklynn; and her niece Reed and nephews Justin and Ethan. She is predeceased by her step‑father, Douglas.
Lisa shared a close and enduring relationship with her mother, Judy, who was a steady source of love and support throughout her life. Their bond was deep, and Lisa carried her mother’s strength, compassion, and resilience with her in everything she did.
Her sisters, Shelly and Jacklynn, held a lifelong place in her heart. Their bond was shaped by years of shared laughter, hard moments, and the kind of loyalty that only sisters know. She loved them deeply, and their presence was an important part of her life.
Her daughters, Alexis and Victoria, were the centre of her world. Lisa’s love for them was constant and deeply rooted — expressed in everyday moments, in small gestures, and in the ways she tried to show she cared. They were her greatest joy, and she carried them with her in every part of her life.
As her family, we felt her love in the everyday ways she showed it — the moments that seemed simple at the time but mean everything now. We will carry her in all the small, ordinary moments she shaped — in the way we reach for each other, in the strength she taught us to find, and in the softness she tried so hard to give. Her absence is immeasurable, but the love she left in us is something we will feel for the rest of our lives, in every quiet place where she should still be.
Cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honour Lisa’s memory.
