Marlyn (Lynn) Ilene Gossman
1948–2026
Surrounded by the love of her family and in the comfort of her home, Lynn Gossman peacefully passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 77. While our hearts are filled with profound sadness, we find comfort in knowing she was surrounded by love and held close in the thoughts and hearts of those who cherished her during her final days.
Lynn’s greatest joy in life was her family. At 18 years old, while living in London, she met the love of her life and best friend, Dennis. Their connection was immediate, and they became engaged three weeks later. They were married at the age of 19, the year the Leafs last won the cup and went on to share 59 wonderful years together. Their enduring marriage was truly a love story for the ages and a beautiful testament to lifelong love, friendship, and unwavering devotion.
A devoted wife and loving mother, Lynn dedicated herself to raising her three children with endless love and care. Later, she enjoyed a career as a travel agent, combining her passion for helping others with her love of exploring the world.
Lynn found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid knitter for over fifty years, loved working in her garden, nature, enjoyed traveling, and could often be found with a good book in hand. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and love, shared with her beloved cats, Myka and Brownie.
Lynn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, kindness, and selfless generosity. She showed those around her that a life doesn’t have to be extraordinary to be deeply meaningful—it is the love we give, the family we cherish, and the simple moments we share that leave the greatest impact. Her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, her grandchildren, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the values she instilled will remain a lasting gift to the many lives she touched.
Lynn leaves behind her beloved husband and best friend of 59 years, Dennis; her loving children, Jeramie Gossman and Valerie, and Lisa Baetsen and Tom; her cherished grandchildren, Devin (Tammy), Peyton, Shannon (Leighton), Liliana, William (Renée), Natalie, Jaedyn, Ashley (Josh), Amber and Tyler; and her great-grandson, Nathan.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Shannon Gossman; her parents, Kenneth and Muriel Dench; her brother, John Dench (Arlene); and her step-sister, Joanne Morrow (Jerry).
She will also be lovingly remembered by her step-sister, Pat Colby (Wayne), along with many other extended family members and friends.
In keeping with Lynn’s wishes, cremation will take place.
A Celebration of Lynn’s Life will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the Gossman residence from 2:00 p.m. until all who wish to celebrate her life have had the opportunity to do so.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the American Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
