Michael Patrick Owens

1945 – 2025

Mike passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025 at the age of 80.

Greatly missed by his loving wife Sharon (nee Harper) of over 50 years.  Cherished Father of Patricia Owens (Sean Cassidy) and Cathy Thompson (Paul). Extremely proud Papa of Natalyn, Amber, Megan, Brandon and Alyssa. Dear brother of Shirley Smith (d. Bill), Susanne Seguin (Garry), and Steve Owens.

Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Margaret (nee Carnevale).

Remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews, friends, family, and his dog Molly.

Mike grew up near Powassan and moved to Kitchener at the age of 17. He retired from Canada Post and was a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He enjoyed drives to rural areas where he would support local farmers. With his outgoing personality he was quick with a funny joke but would be just as quick to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Mike easily connected with people and had a positive impact on the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Following cremation, a Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday September 11th, 2025 11am at St. Anthony Daniel RC Church, 29 Midland Drive, Kitchener. Reception to follow in the parish hall. Inurnment will be held September 12th, 2025, 1pm at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 936 Maple Hill Road, Powassan.
