Patricia Frances (Bobby) Wiles
1952 - 2025
Lovingly known as Bobby by family & close friends, Pat died on April 12 at the age of 73. She lived a full & active life despite years of dealing with several chronic conditions. Pat left this world as she lived her life – on her own terms.
Pat was born in England & came to Canada with her parents Harry and Jo Dunn when she was two years old. After a few years in Calgary the family moved to K-W which was home for the rest of her life.
Bobby loved her gardens which thrived under her tender loving care. She shared her plants and gardening wisdom with all who were interested. She loved jigsaw puzzles – the more intricate the better – searching for treasures at Thrift Stores & a good game of cards.
Her exceptional skill with numbers, problem-solving ability & curiosity about people made her a natural for the business world. She worked beside her mother at a dog breeding & training service. Her father helped to hone her skills at the family retail business where she eventually became manager & employed several family members.
In her teens Pat trekked throughout Europe. Travel remained an important part of her life, travelling with husband Butch to Vegas, Africa, Australia, England. Not being a fan of cold weather Pat spent many wonderful winter weeks combing the beaches of Abaco for shells, & sharing rented accommodations in Florida with family & friends.
Pat leaves behind her husband Butch Wiles who shared 44 years with her. His tender and attentive care brought her joy and added to the quality of her final months. He made her last wish possible - to be surrounded by the love of her family as she died.
She will be missed by her children Julie (Yan), Nickey, and Kevin; grandchildren Steven, Lateisha, Kiana, Taylor, Taneah, Kennedy, Amari, & Ava; greatgrandchildren Mya, Levi, Zaya, Penny, Nyjah, & Jem. Predeceased by her parents and brother Mike. Her brother Dave, SIL Shirley Dunn & nephews Adam, David & Michael will hold her memories close. She’ll be missed by special friends Jim & Marlene & the gardening club & other residents at The Laurentian.
Whether we knew her as Pat or Bobby, our lives are much richer because of the time we spent with her. We wish her well as she sails off into the mystic, breathing freely & ready for whatever Mother Nature has in store for her.
Honouring her wishes, there’ll be no formal service. Donations in her memory can be made to The House of Friendship or the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
