Randall Bernard Wittig
1949- 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Randy on Thursday September 25th, 2025, at the age of 76 years.
Randy was a guy who loved socializing, having a good laugh and helping others. Throughout his life he loved playing hockey with his brothers and watching most sports especially hockey and football on TV. Early in life he enjoyed travelling for a year in Europe with Bev, then years of travel in North America with her and the girls. He enjoyed fifty years of family time at the cottage at Lake Joe and Conestoga Lake. Later in life he took up horseback riding with friends and his three grandchildren. Family and friends were extremely important to him, and he cherished his time with them.
Beloved husband and best friend of Beverley Anne (nee McCoy) who were together for over 50 years.
Loving father of Kathryn Schnurr (Craig) and Jessica Wittig. Cherished grandfather of Chloe, Kale and Kieran.
Dear Brother of Pamela Druar (Paul), Gregory Wittig (Rob Durant) Timothy Wittig (Sue) and by a sister-in-law Miriam Wittig
He will also be lovingly remembered by Bev’s family; Terry McCoy (d. Connie) and Maureen McCoy and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, neighbours and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Jeanette (nee Bean) and a brother Bernard jr.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 4th, 2025, at Thunderstorm Productions, Unit # 8- 283 Northfield Drive Waterloo from 1-4 pm. Light refreshments will be available.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Pulmonary Fibrosis as expressions of sympathy.
A special thank you to the staff at Paramed, Wound Care and to the nurses and PSW’s for all their kindness, support and essential services. It was greatly appreciated.
