Sharon Linda Sztronga

1947 – 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sharon on Tuesday April 7th, 2026 at the age of 78 years after a courageous battle with ALS.  She was surrounded with the love of her family.

Sharon was born in Simcoe, Ontario, and grew up in Vittoria.  She trained to be a registered practical nurse after high school, and worked for several years at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe until her retirement in 2007. 

Sharon moved to Grimsby after her retirement, and lived in a little cottage on the lake with her partner, Ian until November, 2025 when she needed to move to long term care in Kitchener.

Sharon was an avid gardener and transformed many gardens, including the yard around the cottage into a beautiful oasis of shrubs and flowers.

Sharon was the beloved partner and best friend of Ian Blakelock.  They were together for over 24years.

Loving mother of Kimberly Pereira (Adelio), Matthew Sztronga, and predeceased by her son Colin Sztronga (Janet Geng).

Cherished grandmother of Tristan Pereira, Marco Yu, Roman and Sydney Sztronga.

Dear sister of Alan Seymour and Debbie McCulligh and niece of Phyllis Pollet.

She is predeceased by her grandparents, Fred and Marjorie Smith, mother Marjorie Seymour, and by siblings; Dennis Seymour and Mary Lou Ball.

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Society or Humane Society as expressions of sympathy.
