Cecilia Elizabeth “BETTY” Pamela Posch
Sunday, November 22, 1931 – Wednesday, April 8th, 2026
Betty made her way to Heaven at the age of 94, peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. She is survived by her daughter, Tina Lewis & son-in law, Rick, Daughter-in law, Dorothyann White, grandsons, Adam Lewis, Michael Deighan, Cosmo Posch, Granddaughters Ashli Lewis (Nick), Nikola Posch, Great Grandchildren, Lizzy, Cadence, Lucy, Aibhlinn & Belenus & many extended family overseas. Predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Kurt Posch, devoted son, Trent, her only brother Trevor & many others.
Born in Bombay, India to loving parents, Daisy & Kingsley Curry, the family moved back to England when she was 6 yrs old. Her mother passed away 6 yrs later & she & her brother Trevor became even closer, navigating their life together as their father was often away. At 26 yrs of age, she decided she wanted to see the world. Bravely, she crossed the Atlantic, making her first stop Canada. She started a secretarial job, met her future husband Kurt, who had newly immigrated from Austria & that’s where the travelling ended!! Together they made Canada their adopted “forever” home laying down roots & proudly becoming Canadians.
Betty was a person who loved so many & was loved back by so many & she was blessed with many talents. Her family was always her number one JOY. She was a devoted wife & the best “Mumsie” ever to Tina & Trent. Not having family close by, friends became family. She treasured & enjoyed so many things in her life, her constant Faith, being number one. And it was evident in the way she lived her life every day. If ever needed, she was always available.
Some of her favourite things included family camping trips, especially in the mountains of New Hampshire & at the seaside in Maine, her painting, gardening, crosswords, love of music, reading, sewing & crocheting & when retired, daily walks with Dad & their precious pets. Volunteering hours at Our Lady of Fatima & at St. Lukes Place. She spent so much time with her grandchildren, who brought her so much happiness, including Christmas carolling every year with them. Her final years were with her Stirling Heights family where again; she was loved & respected & so well cared for. She truly was a loving, caring, sincere, kind, generous, gregarious, loyal & thoughtful lady who will be missed so very much.
A Mass will be celebrated in Betty’s honour on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 11am at St. Mary’s of the Visitation, 16 Cooper Street, Cambridge, Ontario N3C 2N2. An informal reception to follow at the church.
