Stead Norman Clarke

April 10, 1946 – October 4, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Stead Norman Clarke, originally of Bell Island, Newfoundland, on October 4, 2026, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

Stead leaves behind his devoted wife and best friend, Barbara (Hibbs) Clarke; his son, Norman (Leann); and his daughter, Shelly Clarke-Harvey (Alex). He was a proud and loving Poppy to Shane, Paige, Cameron, Braydan, and Landon, all of whom brought him immense joy and happiness.

He is also remembered by his brothers and sisters, Angus (Beverly), Rick (Dawn), and Lorraine (Wince); his sisters- and brother-in-law, Donna (Pete), Walter (Rhonda), and Connie (Eric); as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Eric Clarke; his mother, Doris (Nosworthy) Clarke; his sister, Cavell Earle; and his nephew, Jeffrey Tambeau. Stead was also predeceased by his in-laws, Walter and Mary (Bartlett) Hibbs, and his brothers-in-laws, Bill and Leo Hibbs.

Stead was a passionate Chicago Blackhawks fan who rarely missed a game. He cherished the simple pleasures in life, especially long walks along the river with Barb and spending time cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and being Poppy was one of his greatest joys.

Stead will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A private family graveyard service will be held. Interment will take place at Mount View Cemetery during a private family service.
