Thomas Alfred Gimbel

1936 - 2025

Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital with his family at his side on April 24th, one day short of his 89th birthday.

Dear husband of Janet (nee Schulte) for 67 years. Loving father of Wendy Jorgensen and Brian (Cathy) Gimbel and the late Jennifer (Wayne) Bradshaw. Tom was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Sean (Jennifer), Jakob (Janvi) and Jordan Jorgensen and Joshua (Lexi) and Jennifer Gimbel. Great-grandfather to eight.

Also survived by his brother-in-law Robert Schulte (the late Ursula) and sister-in-law Nancy (the late Bryan) Jonas.

Predeceased by his parents Edgar and Mildred Gimbel, his in-laws David and Myrtle Schulte, and grandson Jay Jorgensen.

Nephew Mike Schulte and nieces Amy and Alisa Jonas will miss Uncle Tom.

Tom worked at J.M Schneiders for all his working days, retired early and enjoyed his retirement with many trips with Janet.  He also enjoyed fishing, playing golf with his buddies at the Merry Hill Golf Club, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

As expression of sympathy donations to the Food Bank would be appreciated.

Many thanks to the PSW personnel who assisted Tom in his last few months.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held in the summer for family and friends.
