Thomas Edward Frederick
1935 - 2025
“A bright light in our lives has been extinguished.”
The family of Thomas Edward Frederick, sadly announce his death on November 4, 2025 in his 91st year.
Anyone who knew “Toby” as he was known to most will tell you that whenever he entered a room, he created an immediate warm “fuzzy” feeling. He knew how to make everyone feel comfortable and relaxed.
Tom was a man of many talents. He was most known for his “quick wit” and his uncanny sense of humour. He was gifted in writing poems, especially for his friends and family on their many special occasions. The result was that he was chosen as a Public Speaker and Master of Ceremonies at many functions throughout his life. Tom’s greatest talent however lies in the “Arts”. He designed and created stained glass windows, carved beautiful Ostrich Eggs and was a Master Gardener. Tom was also a “Games” man. He played Bridge, Cribbage and above all, Scrabble. He enjoyed all of these games until the very end.
Tom spent his business career in the Pharmaceutical and Health Care Field.
He is the son of the late Ted & Nellie (Saunders) Frederick and the brother of the late Jane Williams and the late Margaret Close (Vern). He was predeceased by his first wife of 50 years, Carole Stueck.
Left to mourn is his wife, Marilyn McMillan and her family. His daughter Leslee Ressel (Ogi) and his son Stephen Frederick (Penny, deceased), Grandchildren Sam Stevens (Dara), Alex Farquhar, Olivia Gwynne (Rys) and two Great Grandchildren Eloise and Ewen. Paul Stueck, Brother-in-law (Carol), and his Sister-in-law Beverley Macdonald (Bob, deceased) and a plethora of dear nieces and nephews.
At Tom’s request, there will be no public funeral. “A Gathering of Friends and Family” to honour his life will be held at a later date.
Anyone who wishes to make a donation in Tom’s memory can do so to the Food Bank or the charity of your choice.
