Todd Edward Spurgeon

1973- 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Todd on Wednesday January 21st, 2026, at the age of 52 years.

Born with a fishing rod in his hand and pure kindness in his heart, Todd’s passion for helping others filled every corner of his life.  From his beloved “girls” at home, to his decades long paramedic career, to lending  a helping hand to anyone in need, this sudden and profound loss is something we are going to feel forever.

Beloved husband and lifelong best friend of Jennifer (nee Campbell). Adoring, dedicated girl dad of Jessica.

Cherished brother of Carie Frias (Nelson), and loving uncle of Brooklyn and Kristin.

He is survived by his father Howard and predeceased by his mother Suzie (nee Schut). He will be greatly missed by his mother-in-law and fellow Habs fan Janet Campbell.

The world was a much better place with him in it, and things just won’t be the same without him. He will be greatly missed by extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues and anglers everywhere.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Todd’s Life will take place on February 1st at Cambridge Newfoundland Club from 1:00 to 4:00. Paramedics, if you wish, please wear your dress uniform, otherwise be comfortable – Spurg would hate anyone coming in their “monkey suit”.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the OFAH Foundation  as expressions of sympathy.
