Wayne Antoine Houle
It is with love and countless cherished memories that we announce the passing of Wayne Antoine Houle, who passed away peacefully at Stratford Rotary Hospice on August 6, 2026, just days shy of his 81st birthday. Wayne was born on August 9, 1945, in Blind River, Ontario.
Husband of Teresa (Robins) proud father to Shelley, Duane (Kelly), Lonny, Krista, Scott (Adrienne)and a much-loved grandfather to Justin, Dion, Kyle, Owen, Ryan, Alysha, Ashley, Jacob, Robbie, Keegan, Cassie, Reeve, Belle and great-grandchildren who will forever treasure his stories, laughter, and spirit.
Wayne found joy in life's simple pleasures. If there was a yard sale, an auction, or a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered, chances are Wayne was already there. He loved games of horseshoes at the trailer, where good competition was always matched with even better conversation. He achieved countless crokinole championships in Tavistock. He found joy in making music, playing guitar and singing his familiar tunes. He also enjoyed traveling and cruising, making memories with family and friends wherever the journey took him.
His time as a crossing guard brought him joy and purpose in his later years.
Wayne's life was measured not by the things he collected, but by the people he loved. His quirky sense of humour, easygoing nature, and appreciation for life's adventures will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and volunteers at Stratford Rotary Hospice, whose kindness and care brought comfort during Wayne's final days.
In Wayne's memory, donations to support Stratford Rotary Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held this fall, with details to be announced at a later date.
Though Wayne's next adventure has begun, his stories, laughter, and the love he shared will remain with us always.
