Wendy Carol Shantz

Passed away peacefully at WRHN@chicopee (formerly Freeport) on Tuesday September 16, 2025 at the age of 78. 

Born in Pembroke Ontario, raised in Kitchener, Wendy enjoyed spending time with both her family, who were very dear to her, and with her many friends. She remained very social and loved to scrapbook and playing rummy cube with a close group of friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandma and loved spending time with her grandkids. She was a special person who always lived life with a positive outlook, even during her illness this last year. She kept in touch with friends and family through cards, emails and letters and looked forward to those messages.  

Beloved wife and best friend of Peter Shantz. They were married for over 60 years.

Loving Mother of Jennifer Davis(Lance), Janette Skeen(Mike), Loretta(Lori) Shantz (Chris Cowan) and James Shantz.

Cherished Grandmother of Benjamin & Krista Davis, Allie & Owen Skeen and Oliver Cowan.

Dear Sister of Ron(Uta) Milmine, Cheryl(Rick) Lear, Darlene Cassidy, Donna(John) Evans and Harlyn(Carol) Milmine.

Predeceased by her parents Morley and Sarah Milmine (nee Linley).

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date with interment at Erb Street Mennonite Cemetery, Waterloo.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
