William Robert “Bob” Mitchel Wiebe

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Wiebe. He passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025 at his home in Cambridge, Ontario at the age of 73.

Beloved husband of Linda Wiebe (nee Johnston) for 54 years. Cherished father of Sean Wiebe (Caroline) and Coralee Mahoney (Mike). Grandfather to Pauline and Kelly. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Kathy Robertson (Wayne), Cindy Lo (Kam), Alf Wiebe (Candy) .

Predeceased by his parents William and Evelyn Wiebe, and brother Dennis.

He started out his career as an air traffic controller in Bagotville, Quebec. While taking a training course in Barrie he met the love of his life Linda. During his time at C.P. Express and Transport he took on various roles including truck driving, sales, and driver training. He helped organize and judge several truck driving rodeos as well. He made many friends who have remained important to him over the years.

His family meant everything to him. He was actively involved in his kids’ lives and coached both baseball and hockey in Hespeler. The family took yearly trips to Manitoulin Island for fishing, boating, and time on the lake water skiing.

Bob was an avid fisherman and loved his yearly fishing trips with the boys. He loved golfing, gardening, and riding his bike. He enjoyed entertaining and hosting family BBQ’s and parties with friends. Bob was a Chicago Blackhawks fan and loved to talk politics.

He was known for telling jokes/animated stories and was often the life of the party.

In his retirement he spent lots of time travelling with his wife, with yearly winters spent in Florida. Here he met many great friends from all over Canada and the U.S.A.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS society.

Special thanks and appreciation to the ALS Team at the London Health Sciences Centre for the great care he received. Also, thanks to the nurses, personal service workers, physio therapist, and occupational therapist that came to the house making his life more interesting. Dr. Attalla, Dr. Sahota and the Hespeler Pharmacy were all very helpful and supportive throughout the last year.

Hospice volunteers also made the journey less stressful with the Reiki, massage and reflexology. Their caring attitude and sunny smiles always made our day.

Thank you also for our good friends who have been so supportive through his ALS journey.

Messages and condolences for the family may be left in the comment box below.
