Alice Bluth
1943-2026
It is with great sadness the family of Alice Marie Berthe Bluth nee Groulx shares news of her passing on Monday September 7, 2026 at the age of 82 years at Hospice Waterloo Region.
Alice was born in Hearst, Ontario and spent most of her years living in Northern Ontario. There she enjoyed the great outdoors especially her time at camp on Manitoulin Island. She was a homemaker and shared running A&R Texaco with her husband before retirement. Beyond that work, Alice had many talents. She was an avid baker, enjoyed creating beautiful blankets and clothing using a loom and turning out the most stunning cross-stitch pieces. She was competitive at board games and enjoyed winning at every opportunity she got, even when playing with her great grandchildren. Following the death of her husband, Alice moved to Kitchener.
She spent the last two years of her life living at Chartwell Bankside making wonderful friends and creating a special bond with her new best friend Ivan Felker. She was his card partner, dinner companion and Raptors buddy. Alice took great joy in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Claudette (Michael) and Kurt (Peggy). She was Oma to Andrew (Keshia), Alyssa (Eric), Christopher (Krista), Ryan (Jessica) and Patrick. She was Great Oma to Gunnar, Zoe, Scott and Henry. She is predeceased by her husband Rainer Bluth, her parents Joseph Groulx and Marie Michaud and her brother Dennis Groulx. She is remembered for her gentle spirit and beautiful smile.
Alice’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Samantha Earl, the Palliative Care team at WREN Midtown and the deeply compassionate and skilled care team at Waterloo Hospice Region.
Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration will be held following interment at a later date.
