Audrey Beryl Boutilier

1929- 2025

Audrey passed away peacefully at home with the love of her family on Sunday December 14th, 2025 at the age of 96.

Born 1929 in Brighton, Sussex, England. Audrey started nursing school at the age of 16 and spent much of her working career caring for children. With a nursing position with Dr. Barnardo's children’s home and a placement as nanny to The Queen’s god children, Audrey’s career was one of love, care, and nurturing.

After immigrating with her family to Canada in 1966, she continued her care for not only her own six children but for others through Waterloo regional home daycare.

Audrey’s sense of humor, sarcastic at times, is shared by her children and even passed to her grandchildren. In that way, Audrey’s laughter will live on with all of them.

Though Canada had been her home for many years, her favorite of which were spent in Cape Breton, her heart remained in England.

Loving mother of Macolm Staines (Mary), Michael Staines, Teresa Weber (Joe), Shirley McConnery and Stephen Staines (Susan).

Proud Nanny /Great Nan to many.

She was predeceased by one son, Graham Staines, by her first husband Erik Staines and by her second spouse, Henry “Burt” Boutilier.

Also predeceased by her parents; Stephen and Ida Keyes (Buckwell)

She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbours.

Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
