Betty Lou McGonegal

1941 – 2026

It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Betty at WRHN@Queen’s Blvd Kitchener on Friday May 8th, 2026 at the age of 84.  

Betty was born to Ivan and Edith Thomas (nee Armstrong) in 1941 and raised in Sault Ste. Marie.

Loving mother of Barb (Greg Young), Mike Dmyterko, Wayne Dmyterko and Corrine Scott (Paul Young).

Cherished grandmother of Mikey, Chelsea, Josh and Jessie. Proud great grandmother of Benjamin and Theodore.

Dear sister of Larry Thomas (Annie), Lloyd Thomas (d. Louise), Evelyn Lirette (Leo), Irene Pickford (d. Gord), Bud Thomas (d. Heather) and survived by one sister-in-law Marion Thomas.

Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses; Joyce Canarsi (Mike), George (Beverly), Billy Thomas and Reggie Thomas.  

Cremation has taken place.  A private family gathering will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WRHN Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
