Brian Michael McKay

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, at the age of 54.

Beloved husband and best friend of Stacey McKay (née Genereux) for 13 years. Cherished dad of Olivia McKay. Dear brother of Bob McKay (Lorna) and Don McKay (Polly), and proud uncle to nephew Ryan. Predeceased by his parents, Alex and Irene McKay.

Brian worked in the pet industry for over 25 years. In September 2001, he began driving for Freedom Pet Supplies, delivering throughout Ontario. It was during this time that he met the future love of his life, Stacey, at Critter Jungle in Ottawa. Brian later became Fleet Manager and loved his early mornings in the warehouse overseeing his team.

Fondly known as “Briguy” to many, Brian loved time with his family, rowdy garage poker games, road trips to see friends, and quiet nights by the fire after up-north ATV adventures.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Brian’s life will be held at his favourite neighbourhood pub at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
