David Jerome Roworth

Passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025 at his Cambridge residence at the age of 82.

Beloved partner and best friend of Alison Wright.

David, also known as “Jerry”, was the cherished father of Lori Roworth (Brent), Michelle Radostits (John), Jordon MacLean (Saleena). Proud Grandfather, “Grandpa Jerry” to Michael (Jasmine), Alexandra, Mathew (Bailey), Ryan (Val), Piper. Loving Great Grandfather to Jayden and Ethan.

Predeceased by parents William and Harriet Roworth, brother William “Bud” Roworth and sister Beverly Dametto, brother-in-law Val Dametto, nephew David Dametto. Fondly remembered as “Uncle Jerry” by many nieces and nephews.

David was born in Sudbury, Ontario, grew up in Falconbridge, Ontario and had a passion and aptitude for hockey that took him to Toronto at age 15, drafted by the Toronto Marlies. In his early twenties he became a Metro Toronto Police Officer and later made a career change into Construction Safety and Labour Relations in the Oil Industry, which took him to Alberta for several years and then back to Ontario on various job projects.

He loved animals, particularly dogs, he had many beloved pets and in the latter years a cherished little canine pal, Scruffy.

David had a fantastic sense of humour, was kind, gentle and loved long discussions about many varied and often deep topics. He was a wonderful storyteller and often shared his sports, employment and adventure stories with his family and friends. Always willing to listen, give advice and offer help, his family loved him very deeply and he will be missed beyond words.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
