Gerald Harry Solonik

Passed away peacefully with his family at his side on August 11, 2025 at Lisaard House Hospice in Cambridge, Ontario at the age of 84.

Cherished father of Tammy Solonik (Sam) and Kevin Solonik (Cindy). Proud grandfather of August Ezekiel, Christopher Solonik (Brittany). Dear brother of Larry Solonik (Jane), Harold Solonik (Annette), Ruth Anne Scott (Jack), Gerry Sturgeon. Former spouse of Isobel Solonik.

Predeceased by his parents Harry and Alice Solonik, his sisters Audrey Sturgeon, Dorothy Solonik, his brothers Ron Solonik, Doug Solonik and Gordon Solonik,

Gerald was born in Galt and raised in Preston. He worked 39 years at Walker Exhaust/Tenneco Automotive. He was a standardbred horse trainer and was a horse hauler and groom up until he passed; actively involved with horses his whole life. Devoted to his family.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Lisaard House would be appreciated by the family.
