David Turkington

1951 – 2025 

Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Friday November 21st at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener at the age of 74.

Beloved husband and companion of Arlene Turkington. They were married for 51 years.  Loving father of Patrick (Tanya) who thanks his Dad for his loving, constant guidance and was always there for him when needed. He will greatly miss his Dad.

Cherished grandfather of Danica, Alex, Brooklyn, and Kaleigh. Predeceased by parents, Jim and Barb.

David was born in Ireland and raised in Toronto. David, Arlene, and Patrick relocated to Waterloo in 1989. After high school, David worked for the Toronto Star, Lake Simcoe Ice, and Pentalift. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and love of reading.

A special thank you to the staff (his second family) at Sunnyside who made him smile. They made a safe and loving home for him.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunnyside Home as expressions of sympathy.
