Donna Louise MacKinnon

1942-2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Donna Louise MacKinnon, who died peacefully on Sunday January 11 at the age of 84, following a stroke.

Donna was born on January 1, 1942, in Toronto, Ontario, and made her home in Guelph, Ontario. She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humour, and love for animals.

Donna bred Golden Retrievers in the 1980s, was a lover of all types of music, and had been a ballroom dancer for many years with her ex-husband, the late Paul Burwell.  She loved all animals, especially dogs and is remembered by those who purchased puppies from her kennel, Featherfeet.

Donna is missed by her daughter Nadine (Douglas), son John (Zovig), grandsons Liam and Riley, and her dog Spirit. She is also lovingly remembered by extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Michelle, her parents, Florence and Jack MacKinnon, and her son-in-law, Paul Bell.

Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donna Louise MacKinnon may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or to WRHN @ Chicopee’s Palliative Care Unit.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Guelph General Hospital’s ICU department and WRHN @Chicopee’s Palliative Unit staff, especially RPN Rosemary McCormick, and nurses Anna, Sara and Nicole, for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
