Gloria Jean Aszmies (nee Lutz)

December 24, 1946 – October 4, 2025

Gloria Jean Aszmies passed away at WRHN – Midtown (formerly Grand River Hospital) in Kitchener, Ontario on Saturday, October 4 in her 78th year.

She was the wife of the late Adolf Aszmies (1940-2024) for over 51 years. Cherished Mom of Robert (Sandra), and Jamie (Erin). Dear Oma of Nathaniel, Benjamin, Hannah, Fynn (Snook), Danielle and Gavin.

She will be sadly missed by sister Rose, brother Edward (Ted) and sisters-in-law Hermine and Jennifer along with many Lutz nieces and nephews.  Survived by two sisters-in-law and many Aszmies nieces and nephews in Canada and Germany.

Predeceased by her parents William and Marjorie (Newman) Lutz, sisters Betty, Joy, Mary, Shirley and brother William (Bill).

Gloria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, did volunteer work with the Salvation Army in her younger years and was an avid writer and poet throughout her life.

Cremation has taken place and time of inurnment will take place in Hagey Mennonite Cemetary at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
