Helen Lyon Currie

1943– 2026

Helen Lyon Currie of Ingersoll, formerly of Kincardine, passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born in Pennymore, Scotland, she was the middle of seven children, with 5 brothers and 1 sister. Helen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren going to the beach, playing games, and cheering them on at sporting events. In later years, she looked forward to visits with her great-grandchildren, which always included Timbits.

Beloved wife of the late Alexander Currie (2015). They were married for over 53 years.

Loving mother of Alexander Currie, Kirsty Ricker (Bob), and the late Craig Currie (2013).

Cherished grandmother of Stacey Currie, Ashlyn Ricker, Kayley Hardy (Kyle), Kyle Ricker (Emily), and the late Megan Currie (2020).

Proud great-grandmother of Chase, Taylor, Jack and Brinn Currie, Olivia and Aubrey Hardy, and Haisley Ricker.

Also missed by her brother Randy McAloon, daughter-in-law Anne Currie, many nieces and nephews, and the community at Woodingford Lodge Ingersoll.

Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
