Jerry John VanDelen

1964 - 2026

Jerry John VanDelen, 62, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026. Born in Etobicoke, Ontario, Jerry was a devoted family man, a skilled press operator, and a fierce competitor on the bowling lanes.

Jerry is survived by his children, Brian (Ekaterina) and their children Hank and Ava, and Candice and her daughter Chloe; his wife, Michele; his brother in law, Ed; and his sisters, Kelly (Mark), Teresa (Chris), and Cheryl (Andrew). He also leaves behind his best friend, Grant Butler, who stood by him through thick and thin.

A hard worker all his life, Jerry took pride in his craft as a press operator and was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Outside of work, he found joy and community in bowling, where his competitive spirit and good humor made him a favorite among teammates and league friends.

Jerry was a great father and grandfather who loved his family deeply. Those who knew him will remember him as a great guy who would help anyone and would give you the shirt off his back. He was the kind of person who showed up when it mattered, offered help without being asked, and treated people with kindness and respect.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Port Credit Legion, 36 Front St. N. Mississauga.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Jerry’s memory.
