John Edward Madill

1944 – 2026

Passed away peacefully at Innisfree House on Thursday February 5th, 2026 at the age of 81 years.

John grew up in Wingham, Ontario. After graduating as a computer programmer, he lived in Scarborough until a bad fall in 2023 resulted in him moving to a retirement home in Waterloo. John loved to golf. He was known for his sense of humour and funny stories.

John was the beloved husband of the late Julia Grayce Madill (nee Thornton). He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mabel Madill, and by one brother, Glen Madill.

He was the cherished brother-in-law of Jill Carpenter, Jeff Thornton, Cindy Nicholson and Sue Madill.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service and interment will take place in the Spring of 2026 in Wingham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy.
