Maigualida Isabel Lopez de Vasquez

1949  – 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maigualida in Kitchener, Ontario Monday June 8th, 2026 in her 77th year. 

Maigua was a brave and radiant soul, a woman of incomparable glamour whose warmth filled every room she entered. A phenomenal cook and a true citizen of the world, she spoke five languages and carried within her a wealth of knowledge, curiosity, and love for cultures, opera, journalism, and classical music. She adored her husband, Hector, and her daughters, Camila and Mariana, and shared a special bond with her beloved dogs Mateo, Sergio, Sofia, and Kevin. Throughout her six-year battle with cancer, Maigua showed extraordinary courage, grace, and strength, never losing her wonderful sense of humour or the kindness that defined her. She leaves behind a legacy of elegance, wisdom, and love that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Beloved wife and best friend  of Hector Vasquez. They were married for over 40 years.

Cremation has taken place.  Please join us for a Celebration of Life on
