Orval Jerome Dorscht
1947-2025
It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden on Tuesday December 30th, with his daughter Katherine Phillips (Dorscht) at his side. He was 78 years.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Jean Dorscht (Wilhelm) in 2023. He shall be sadly missed by son-in-law Jason Phillips.
Cremation shall take place as per his last wishes and his beloved predeceased dog, Duffy laid to rest with him.
Orval owned Dorscht Sporting Goods and Cycle in Waterloo for many years, and an owner operator of Dorscht Trucking.
Son of the late Oval Dorscht Sr., who was inducted into the Hall of Fame who was known for his accomplishments in Sporting Good Services. Orval would have made the NHL draft if it was not for a sudden broken ankle. He played Junior hockey with some of the biggest NHL players of our time. He loved working on any type of engines in his shed with a cold beer and the occasional cigar. Orval's accomplishments received many awards from wrestling at young age, hockey in Jr league and in 1969 the Linwood Rod and Gun for Shot Gun Champ.

Orval shall be placed to rest with his wife at a later date in private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society as expressions of sympathy.
He shall be dearly missed by his daughter Katherine, who stood by his side daily after the loss of his wife Jean.
